Dr. Bradley F. Marple, MD completed his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1984 from the University of Oklahoma. After this, he attended the University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine where he graduated in 1988 with honors. Then after completing an Otolaryngology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, he joined the faculty at this institution in 1994. Since that time his practice has concentrated upon General Otolaryngology, Skull Base Surgery, Allergy and Diseases of the Paranasal Sinuses.
His research interests have concentrated upon inflammatory disorders of the paranasal sinuses and their treatments. Special interests have been the use of leukotriene inhibitors in the treatment of inflammatory sinonasal disease as well as surgical and medical treatment of allergic fungal sinusitis. He has published over 49 articles in refereed journals, 8 review articles, 12 book chapters and was a co-editor of 3 books, including a textbook entitled Hearing Loss with Peter S. Roland, M.D. and William L. Meyerhoff, M.D.
Dr. Marple's current administrative and education responsibilities include Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology (2001 to present) , Chief of Otolaryngology, Parkland Memorial Hospital (2000 to 2004 ) and Chief of Otolaryngology, Dallas Veterans Administration Hospital (1995 to 2000). He was Secretary Treasurer of Zale Lipshy Hospital from January 2000 to December 2000 and has served as a Vice Chief of Staff at Zale Lipshy Hospital January 2001 to December 2001. Chief of Staff at Zale Lipshy Hospital from January 2002 to December 2004. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for "Respiratory Reviews" and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Rhinology, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Head and Neck, and Laryngoscope.
He is on several national committees including The Task Force on New Materials for the American Board of Otolaryngology and The American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He is a research representative for the CORE Study Group representing the American Rhinologic Society and he serves as alternate AMA Delegate for the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. Additionally he is on the Board of Otolaryngology Advisory Panel for US Pharmacopeia.
